Everyone laughed, seeing how a guy lives in a house of 8 m². But everyone became ashamed when they saw the house inside
Thirteen -year -old Luke Tiull from Aiova is far from a stereotypical idea of a teenager. While most of his peers are passionate about completely different things, Luke is busy building houses. It stands out among schoolchildren with its unique hobbies.
A talented young man created his own cozy corner right in the garden of his parental house. This project cost him $ 1,500, but for Luke it is a dream house that is worth seeing!
It is amazing to see that a young man in the era of smartphones, iPads and game consoles prefers more “traditional” classes. He shares his ideas and plans on his YouTube channel, telling about the desire to build a small house and how bored he was an interpretation of this.
For the preparation, fundraising and materials for construction, Luke has gone for a whole year. He was engaged in the span of lawns, raised funds online and performed various works to collect the necessary amount.
Luke made friends with a man who understood the electrician and who helped him with electrical equipment in exchange for cleaning the garage.
In his project, Luke used about 75% recyclables, many materials went to him from his grandmother’s house, and his uncle’s friend gave the front door to him!
A house with an area of about 89 square feet (about 10 feet in length and 5 ½ feet wide) is equipped with electricity, but so far without a water supply, so there is neither a sink nor a shower.
Luke says:
“I like minimalism”
“I wanted to have my house without a huge mortgage.”
Luke created a series of videos for YouTube, where he shares the history of his project, which attracts the attention of many.
His parents helped Luke both in construction and financially, but his father Greg insisted that the hatch pay most of him.
Greg says:
“It was a chance for a child to do something more than just video games or sports”
“This is a real lesson in life.”
Luke’s house is an ideal place for a teenager, a cozy shelter, where he can be himself and have a personal space. It has a microwave, a TV and an attic with a bed, and a place for a barbecue in the back!
After the lessons, Luke diligently makes homework in his house, and sometimes spends the night there!
Luke already has plans for the future – to build another house, more when he goes to college, and he wants to inspire others!
“I want to show the children that at this age you can build”
